Do You Have Dog Poop On Your Carpet? Try These Cleaning Tips! Dogs make great pets. However, in order for them to be as great as they can be, they need to be trained. This process can take quite some time, but it really is worth it in the long run. There are many different things that are common to teach a dog how to do. Nothing, however is as common as potty training a dog. When you have a dog that knows he or she must use the restroom in a designated spot, it will make your life much, much easier. On the way to potty training your dog, though, there are likely to be some bumps in the road. When you are dealing with dog poop in your carpet, it may be something that comes along with potty training your puppy, it may simply be an accident, or it might be something else all together. No matter what caused the incident, there is no doubt you want to clean the poop out of your carpet. Use the tips that follow to help you do so. The first thing that you want to do is remove all of the loose stools. As you do so, be as careful as you can to not rub the poop into the carpet any more than it already is. Once the excess poop is removed, you can move onto the next step. Then, you should treat the stain with either a cleaner meant specifically for cleaning pet stains off of carpet or laundry stain remover . If you use one of these cleaners, follow the directions on the package or let the product sit on the carpet for a few minutes to work its magic. After the cleaning agent has soaked in, you can use cold water to blot the stain. Use a non-abrasive sponge with cold water, and possibly even some laundry detergent, you can begin to watch the poop remains get washed away. Once the area is blotted well, you can use a stiff bristle brush to vigorously scrub the stain. As you do your best to remove the pet mess, make sure that you are not ruining or wearing down your carpet. Using the brush should help you totally remove the stain from the carpet. However, if you find that it’s not going away like you think it should, blot up the remaining water, reapply the laundry stain remover or pet stain cleaner and repeat. Even though the stain may be gone, you will want to do all you can to remove any moisture. You can do this with an absorbent towel or paper towels.
